Thank you to everyone who participated in the North Alabama Zoological Society's inaugural Pickleball Tournament! Held at Big Spring Memorial Park, this event was not only a showcase of spirited competition but also a significant step towards our goal of fostering nature-based STEAM education and bringing a zoo to North Alabama.

We were thrilled to see such a strong turnout. Teams of all ages and genders brought their best game, creating an exciting atmosphere throughout the day. The event kicked off bright and early at 7:30 a.m. and continued with high energy until evening.  It was a bit cool in the morning, but was the perfect temperature by the afternoon.

A big shout out to our food trucks, Nomads Road Dogs and Arepas Lovers, for serving up delicious meals that kept players and spectators fueled and ready for action. Their presence added a fantastic local flavor to our gathering.

We cannot express enough gratitude to our sponsors and volunteers who made this event possible. Your support not only made the day enjoyable but also directly contributes to our conservation initiatives and the ongoing efforts to connect people to animals and nature.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce that next year's tournament is tentatively scheduled for the first Saturday in April. Mark your calendars for more pickleball action, camaraderie, and community spirit. We hope to see returning faces and welcome new participants to join in the fun and support a great cause.
